Do you remember the team building exercise where you close your eyes and are asked to fall backward with your coworkers standing behind you and you are supposed to trust that someone will catch you?
It’s hard to do, isn’t it?
The death of a spouse feels a lot like that. You close your eyes and you feel like you are falling, interminably, but you don’t care… then you are caught.
You open your eyes, and look around, and many people are surrounding you, protecting you, catching you. These are your true friends. Trust them. Lean on them. They just proved they will be there for you no matter what.
